Why should you expect your parents to give you a car? You need to grow up, and learn that the world does not owe you a thing. You need to work hard, get good grades, and save your money from a summer and after school job.

You should not have your own car when you turn 16. You should earn a car buy working and proving you are a responsible driver, when you are allowed to drive the family vehicle!!

Pick rich parents.
OR
Research cars on the web, find cars that fit in the family budget.
Check out insurance.
Show your parents that your paycheck will cover the car payment, insurance, gas, maintenance & auto club.
And
Offer to do something with the car that parents now have to do, like grocery shopping, pick-up & drop off sibs (if any) pick up dry cleaning etc.
SO
Imagine that your parents have a button in the middle of their foreheads that says ''What's In It For Me?". Then, if you can figgure out how to push that button, you'll get the car.

Be a good kid. Show ambition and that you deserve a car. Have a job that the car would make it easier for you to get to, be responsible and trustworthy. That will be what I am looking for 8 years from now when my girl turns 16.

tell them you will get a job (if you don't already) and pay them back. show them you are responsible and they would be more likely to help you out. also, a good used car would be better than a new one at this point.

as good a driver as you may be (or think you are), you have no experience driving, so there is a greater chance you would have an accident. better to be in a less expensive car than a brand new one -- and there are plenty out there for considerably less.

Called get a job, save your money and buy a car.

No where in the parents guide does it state that a parent needs or has to buy their child a car.

To many kids are stuck up brats today cause they get everything handed to them in life. They have no clue what work means, what earning something really means. What it means to work hard towards a goal.

Oh oh oh I am your child....you owe me a playstation, you owe me an apple computer, you owe me a new wardrobe, you owe me a new car..blah blah blah.

Get a job, buy a clunker like the rest of us had too.

How far away IS your B'day?

If you have enough time:

1 Maintain a 3.5 or better GPA
2 Wash and wax family car every week.
3 Get job and offer to pay for your own insurance.

If not enough time:

Start wheedling, begging and PROMISE to do 1-3 above.

parents save the money, then can buy a car for their children if they want to know if their children has their driver license, not the learner permit. That they must pass the road test.

Why should they buy you a car? Get a job and get it yourself. You'll appreciate it a lot more, and you'll get the satisfaction of knowing that you got it yourself instead of having Mommy and Daddy get it for you. It will also teach you how the real world works.

Why on earth would you think this is even something your parents should be responsible for. Get a part time job, save up some money, and buy your own car. You will appreciate it so much more if you work for it.
