Also, the US and UN are so preoccupied with Iran's secret nuclear ambitions even though North Korea is threatening a pre-emptive nuclear strike.

I believe he (Saddam) DID have WMD's but I think the biggest problem was not knowing how far he had gone or would go with them, and just not trusting him given his record. Though we've taken a lot of criticism for invading Iraq, certainly North Korea presents a much more delicate situation diplomatically considering China and Russia. I think it would be unfair to characterize it as some have said that here we are picking on poor defenseless Iraq but don't do a thing about North Korea because we fear them. Fear of North Korea is not the issue. Dealing with the problem without subjecting the world to a massive nuclear exchange is.
