Abortion.
A necessary evil, if you will.
There are cases when it is a MUST; there are cases when it should NEVER be allowed.
Case #1 - woman with major medical issues.
Doctors must choose between saving the life of the fetus or the woman.
I would side with saving the woman - especially it was my wife.
Case #2 - woman gets pregnant for the third time.
No husband, no real source of income, she's a drug user and is HIV-positive.
Odds are good that the fetus will be born addicted and diseased.
Future for the baby looks very dim.
I'd side with aborting.
Case #3 - woman gets pregnant - a mistake due to a one-night stand.
She has already had a previous abortion, due to a previous one-night stand.
Having a baby would be an inconvenience to her life.
I'd say NO to abortion.
The problem with abortion is that it is a case-by-case issue.
It is a MORAL issue and therefore, should NOT be legislated by the government.
I want the government to stay OUT of my (and your) personal life.
They have NO business telling us what we should do.
That is a violation of my (and your) personal freedom.
I also would advocate mandatory birth control to the following:
1. pregnant, unwed teens (after she gives birth);
2. female convicted drug abusers;
3. women with more than three children;
4. women with no real source of income;
5. mentally-ill women.
It is amazing to me that while so many so-called pro-lifers insist that a pregnant woman MUST carry the fetus to term, they don't care what happens to the baby after it’s born.
If our government is so adamant about imposing moral laws on us, then why not legislate births?
Shouldn't people have to pass a parent test before they have a baby?
ANYONE can get pregnant and have a baby...so why not license them like we do in the case of driver’s license, gun ownership, or countless other laws currently in existence?
This MIGHT help curb child abuse and give the baby a better chance at getting proper health and education in its early life.

I don't think abortions should be used as a form of birth control. There are two reasons that I think it is okay to have an abortion.
Becoming pregnant from rape
Your life is at risk
I use to not believe in the last one, but my sister just had my niece and a few months later she became pregnant again. Because her 1st pregnancy took such a toll on her body, the doctors advised her that she or the baby would die if she didn't have the abortion.
I stood by her and told her boyfriend to either wear a condom or keep his dick in his pants.

Speaking as a woman who carried twins 1 dying due to miscarriage and the other from an abortion that i regret everyday of my life, i STILL believe it's the woman's right to choose. Just because it was the wrong decision for me doesn't mean that it's not the right decision for someone else. I was very ill during my pregnancy, especially after the miscarriage. I had to force feed myself, i had to be driven around, I could only sit up for a few minutes at a time, i was put on medication, i was in different dr's and lab offices every other day, i had a fibroid in my fundus, blood in my uterus and the baby implanted low, i missed weeks of work and school (fyi: i am an adult working on a masters degree, not a high school student). My boyfriend also let me know that he didnt want them and that he couldn't take care of them (he has two children by two women, one being his ex-wife). During the time, my depression and medical reasons were my main reasons for my abortion, now that i look at it, i did it because he didn't want them. I was thinking that it isn't fair to make him take care of children that he didn't want (they are my first babies), he already has two that he has to provide for. I was wrong for what i did, but that's because i WANTED my babies and i LOVE them more than anything. I believe it's the woman's right to choose and for everyone saying keep your legs closed, what about women who are raped, women who cant medically carry a baby, children who are forced to have sex with fathers who impregnate them? You can't make a blanket decision, it would be wrong. It's easy to say give a child up for adoption, but realistically how many children get adopted? They are just forced into the system. Personally, I'd NEVER do it again no matter what the circumstance, but i wouldn't have known that if i had not gone through this terrible ordeal. I regret it, I'm sorry that i did it, i've asked for God's AND my babies' forgiveness. It is just my hope that women think about this before they go through with it, It's something that you live with for the rest of your life. I now see TWO therapists as a result of this, it almost killed me!

I feel it all depends on the situation.
I don't believe in abortions as a form of birth control. If you got pregnant and don't want the child give it up for adoption.
If you will die if you carry the baby or come close to it then abortion might be the better choice.
If you where raped then abortion might be a better choice.
I think of it this way. This unborn child should have a chance at a life. They may say it doesn't hurt the child but what do they know about the unborn baby, you can't ask it if it hurts them.

I think that its wrong ! Go to www.albinoblacksheep.com and watch the short film entitled Fetus . It was meant to be funny, but it made me so sad thinking about all of the little babies that will never have a chance at anything. I cannot stand anyone that thinks its okay. Its not ! Stop having sex and getting abortions all of the time ! Docshcoll can go to hell ! Whats wrong with someone wanting to have more than 3 children ? Nothing is wrong with that ! I know many women that have 3 or more , mostly more, children and they deserve every single one of them !

Abortion is a hard subject. To everyone who said well if you didn't use protection then, well what if you did and it broke. What if you want to have the baby and you can't because you could die. You pass judement before you even know the story behind it. To use it as birthcontrol no I don't think it's ok, but think about this too. Look at all the children that are brought on this earth that aren't wanted or that their parents can't take care of them.

there are certain circumstances around abortion, based on just bad contraception habits yes i think its wrong. But for someone who has been raped, no I don't. People think of it as killing an unborn baby, well wrong its not a baby its a fetus and if you had to be reminded every day of that night you were raped would you want to bring a child into the world bearing that his father was some freaking crack head who raped his mother. Come on now... people who don't know don't understand.

It's not right the baby didn't choose to be conceived the mother is the one that chose to spread her legs. The only time I see abortion as being okay is if it was a result of rape or if the baby would be severally deformed and mentally handicapped then why bring the baby into the world to live like that.

I don't believe in abortion my mother made me have 2 because she was worring about what her friends would think.I am grown now and had 3 kids.I am 34 yrs old I have had 6 surgeries and the last one was a total hysterectomy.I still blame it on the abortions I had as a teen,even though I can't prove it.

After having one child and another on the way, I know I would never be able to do it myself. But, I also believe that each woman's situation is different and she has to make that decision herself.
What I don't believe in is women who don't protect themselves, and use abortion as birth control. I think that is just pathetic, sleezy, lazy, trashy, ignorant, a down right shame and blatant murder, even if it is legal.
