I've wondered this myself. I'd like to meet someone new to my life and the Internet seems like a good place. I like the idea that you could get to know how the person thinks, sort of like those letter romances from by gone centuries; before you meet in the real world. The opportunity for someone to exploit the situation sort of scares me though, and travel to another country does seem dangerous. Perhaps you could travel with some companions or even family members. Anyone decent would be fine with that, and if it were a problem with them it is an indication that perhaps all is not as it seems. Your in love eh? That's wonderful, I have been there and I'm very pleased for you. That's the best, good luck with what ever you do.

Why are you doing the traveling? I think there are some genuine people on the Internet, but why would you go all that way to find out? Maybe he should make that trip first, so you can find out what he's like before investing that kind of time, money and energy into something that may not turn out the way you want it to. If he is not willing to put forth the effort, then maybe he is not what he says he is.

They were blessed.
with all the sex trafficking going on in the world today if I was single I would have to know that I'm being led by God and if there was a shred of doubt at all no way.

Very dangerous. Ever hear of forced slavery/prostitution ? If its Canada or England, you might be OK. Talk to trusted older people first. Your life may depend on what you do now !

Depends on the country, and the people involved.
I would have some serious phone conversations with him first and maybe even do a web chat with a web cam.

You should ask him to talk with some of his family members ... specially women from his family ... mother, sister or cousin ... over a web cam ...
to make sure how they will speak ... to determine their status there ...
how they are treated by him ...
if he can't afford buying a web cam .. then buy it for him and send it to him ...
You have to do all your best to guarantee your safety ... and to make sure it's afe to go to him ...
Rather than keep wondering for the rest of your life ...

Other countries have vastly different standards about the treatment of women. You could be abused and even worse, abducted for the worldwide sex trade.
Don't go there, you may become dead.

unfortunately that is the risk you will have to take if you are already in love with him. It is worth the risk though. i hope everything works out great, just be cautious
