I live in Western Nebraska and I know that during the summer our immigrant population is extremely large! This is because a lot of our crops (beans, potatoes, sugar beats) are still picked by hand, a job that usually only immigrants come in to do for the summer!

The system is clogged. But have you considered moving to Canada or some other country where you will get a better welcome? Anyhow, so very many of our jobs are being out-sourced! You may as well move back to wherever you came from!
Seriously, get a lawyer who specializes in immigration law, and research the system. It really is clogged and waterlogged. You might also look at certain loopholes and shortcuts. For instance, if you or someone in your family is of age to join the military, now the military assists their members in getting US citizen ship.
Always remember, the price of freedom is high. I wish you luck, whoever you are.

I am sorry it is taking so long for you. I really hope they can find a faster way to work. I dont know how you can influence them but maybe the chaos attached to that new immigration law has something to do with the delay. well no i dont think its that because my aunt has been waiting like about 5 years. good luck with that!!

You need to contact BCIS in Washington D.C. The local offices only have 180 days to respond to an application.

I only took my wife 3 years. every time you call on your file and someone has to find it your paperwork to give you an answer your paperwork goes back in with that days new applications and your wait starts all over again. Every time you call them it will make your wait longer.

well, there's alot more cases before you! it takes time to get it. unless you came here as IMMIGRANT! then it should only take 2 weeks from your arrival! There's a lot of cases going on K- visas, V- CR's -IR's. Just kept calling them for follow ups!

Influence them? You don't ... if you sent the applications in, they are being processed, and if there's an undue delay, you can ask them why ... and while they are being processed, you will not be deported ... you want to put pressure on them? Bad idea ...

that would be illegal
but then again illegals know something about illegality
I'm sure if they could most of them would pay someone off
with money or their bodies
They have already answered the question as to how much integrity they have

Oh, well. Things like this take time. It's not like you walk in with your ID and they stamp it right then and there.
If you want your green card and want to live in this FREE country, learn some patience.
