No, it is unlikely as China would be forced into action. But since they have launched missiles, the threat has forced the US to open talks and will supplicate them as they wanted years ago when Clinton was president. They are a poor country without many resources and dependant on China and a few others for help. But if they launch a missile, China must consider its position towards possible retaliation from the US...remember that Korea is a peninsula jutting off of China. China has been working to solve the problem and if Washington would shut up and not stir up the North Koreans, China might be successful. Every country has too much to lose...the US, South Korea, China, Japan and North Korea itself.

They will not launch a nuclear weapon in a pre-emptive strike. The most theyll do is lob a 3stage missile into the pacific. They are on the road to deterrence, along with the rest of the nuclear club. Their brinksmanship games are only being done to give them more chips on the table, they are a starving people.

I don't think they will push the button. I feel that N Korea only wants the weapons out of respect. Their dictator probably feels that the international community will respect him if he has this type of weapon. Right now he's under all types of sanctions. His country is already poor... I mean really really poor. He's not going to risk even more scrutiny or face military intervention by pushing the button. Besides he's one of those dictators who likes being wealthy. You can also see it in the gap between those who have and those who have not...

No. They are trying to get Americans to fear them and listen to there terms. If they actually attacked with a nuck, we would retaliate and distroy them, wipeing them from the planet and starting a nuclear war. N. Karea would lose the reasons to own a weapon. The whole idea of it is a threat to get what they want.

No i dont think so. I think its merely a show of strength and 'dont phuk wit us' attitude to keep their neighbours like Japan who wronged them WWII on their toes. ALso it gives them bargainning power when they demend foreign aid or assistance. But then i could be wrong...Hopefully not though!!
