Sometimes unfamiliarity with Hebrew terms and their meanings causes not a little confusion. For instance, at Genesis 1:1, the account states simply: In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth. The verb here rendered "create" is bara, meaning: to create (surprise), to bring in something new. The heavens include all celestial bodies, and that includes the sun and moon. From here on out, however, the Genesis account describes the preparation of earth for habitation.
In Genesis 1:16, however, when speaking of the sun, the Hebrew word is not bara, but rather asah which means, to ordain, prepare, thus at this juncture, God is not creating luminaries but rather is preparing them for their purpose in relation to the earth. It should also be noted that the first mention of light uses the Hebrew word ohr meaning light in a general sense. In the second instance, the Hebrew word is maohr, referring to a source of light.
Oftentimes what appear to be contradictions or error on the surface can readily be understood if given more than a cursory reading. Sometimes a little research and investigation penetrates the swaddling bands of confusion, just like on the first day when God caused diffused light to penetrate the swaddling bands around earth.

You are persistent; aren't you?
Someone touch a sensitive button of yours?
Now you are grouping verses together in sort of a vague text while asking a distorted question. Frankly this is the first time I ever heard of a Muslim disagreeing with book of Genesis.
Since the Koran was written after the Bible by hundreds of years... why don't we look at this like the way one would look at a murder trial. Present your evidence... so that we the jurors can weigh your evidence clearly and make up our own minds.
I have heard a lot of accusations by people but none of it is substantiated. People say that the Bible has been distorted over the years... but we have over 5366 documents outside of the Bible to pull from for validation.

The Bible is not a Scientific history book. It is a guide for humanity. God's word to his created man on how to be and act. It doesn't talk about dinosaurs, etc. because it is for humanity, not to argue scientific facts. Also, In the beginning God said, "Let there be light". The light or energy source of the Creator, I'm sure was enough to sustain life for a day, as you purpose.

Hmm, a hateful muslim who is unsure of his own murderous lifestyle seeks to cause others to sway from their faith. How original. But to answer your question... God is all powerful, so He could make something grow floating in mid air if He so desired. Here you do not question the truth of the Bible, you question the power of God. When you stand before Him in judgement, remind Him that you feel plants need sunlight to live.

As for your mohammed (piss be upon him), he married a 6 year old girl, had sex with her when she was 9, was a well known warmonger and whoremonger... and yet you worship him. The arabs kill each other by the hundreds every single day in the name of God, you slaughter men, women and children of all ages all the while claiming you will get 72 virgins when you die. Stop and look at your religion and the progress muslims have made in 2000 years... NONE. You are still barbarians who seek only to dominate others.

The seven day creation story has to do with the reformation and regeneration of a human being. The Bible is written in parable or what is the same metaphor.
If you read the literal sense of the Bible in a worldly way you get contradictions because the purpose of the literal sense is not to describe events on our globe but to support, contain and protect the interior sense which has to do with the Lord and the church.
Do you think Christ withered the fig tree with no fruit because he was angry at not seeing any fruit on the tree or because He was teaching what happens to a person when they have no works?

Nothing in the BEGINNING worked as it does today. It did not rain, rather the water seeped upward from the ground to water plants, hence people thinking Noah was a cook for building a boat b/c water was going to fall from the sky. The plants were CREATED NOT GROWN. These plants by mere design were lacking some of the physical attributes that today's plants have. God told them to spring forth and produce fruit, and THEY DID....Enough for me...
By the way, I don't know much about the Muslim faith, but I feel that there are enough people who are disgusted with this religion that I wouldn't try to proselytize.

So did Allah make the sun before the plants? I don't know.
None of it makes sense except for creation by the Flying Spaghetti Monster, who make a mountain, a tree, and a midget on the same day.

Good day - Hello,
You have to Sow to Reap... Then you water, sun comes up, and plants grow!
As for the True word 'GOD' etc.:
It's okay whatever you call GOD. GOD is GOD no matter what name we give him!
We all study (not in evil) the morals, the do's and don'ts - It's all the same, we just may have different names and books we do it by!
Have a great day!

The Bible is a spiritual guide-- not a science text book. If you think of it as scientifically literal, you'll find a lot more what you call "factual errors". However, you're on VERY THIN ICE if you pit he Qur'an against it-- it's at LEAST as full of such errors-- probably filled with MANY more since way more backward people wrote it.

First of all, you should not try to defend or attack Bible texts with scientific insights. Science and religion are totally different ways of looking at reality, and they offer different meanings for different purposes. Science tries to explain the (technical) workings of reality, religion tries to give ultimate meaning to life. So it is not useful to start bickering between religion and science, because they speak different 'languages'.
Second, of course the Qu'ran also has passages which are not in line with science. That is NO discredit at all to the Qu'ran, but just shows that it is a bad argument against the Bible.
