Hmmm, that's a new one. Did something bad happen to you involving a knife at some point in your life?
I would suggest dealing with this just like any other fear - face it. Spend a lot of time around knives. Get to know them well. Take up cooking, maybe, and spend lots of time cooking dishes that involve cutting things with really sharp knives. When you get to this point, try doing an exercise where you hold a knife up to your own throat and try to relax while doing it. Or maybe take up a new hobby that involves throwing knives.
Not making a joke here, I really think something like this is what it will take.

First you got to figure out what it is you fear about it. Then, take on an effort to get rid of this fear. Go get a knife, use it to cut up food or to cut things. Hold it up to your own throat. What's scary about it??? Nothing.
What you should fear are those idiots that play jokes by holding it up to your throat or are acting like they're going to cut you.
It's like that saying with the guns. Knives don't kill people, stupid people with knives do.

My only though about that is nobody should be puting a knife at your throat! That is just crule and anybody that does is not your friend. It is normal to fear something but if you show it people will tease you for it so try not to show it. If you want to get over your fear then talk to somebody that you trust about it like a relative. If you do not have anybody close to you that you can talk to about it then try getting a doctor to help.

I've heard of a lot weirder fears than that. I wouldn't trust anyone who put a knife to my throat any more than I would someone who put a gun to my head. Something about things that can kill me being within range. If you feel like you need help, though, talk to a counselor. If it's more than just a common-sense fear, he or she can help you at least get to the point where it isn't overwhelming.

I, too, have a fear of knives. I think it is a pretty sensible fear. It is called aichmophobia.
Your friends don't sound very nice! May I suggest that you stay away from anyone that treats you that way? Friends are supposed to be supportive, not prey on your weakness.
The passing out is a little extreme. However, I understand that there is medication for this.

First off, you hang out with some sick people. Next, have you tried therapy for your fear? Or just forcing yourself to deal with your fear? I had a terrible fear of heights, actually it was a fear of ladders, not climbing up, but climbing down. I would get shakey, and dizzy, and sick to my stomach when I had to climb down a ladder. Then I got a job where every day I had to climb up a ladder to check gages. The bad part was that when done checking the gages I had to climb back down the ladder. It wasn't a short ladder. It was really tough for the first week or so. Then it got easier. By the time I left that job, I had no problems with ladders.

people who do that are cruel. knives can be very dangerous in the wrong hands and being afraid of them isn't really weird. passing out from the fear is a little extreme though. perhaps you should discuss your reaction with a professional.

Seams like a pretty rational fear to me. I wouldn't be all that comfortable with that either. PS why are people putting knives up to your throat?
