I have a lot of extra shampos, conditioner, soap, lotion, toothpaste etc. around the house and I have spent the last three days trying to find a charity tha actually wants it.

None seem to.

Now, I highly doubt that straving destitute people in third would countries would say no to this stuff, so I don't understand why no charity will take it, especially as I am willing to pay shipping.

So does anyone know of a charity that is accepting hygeine prouct donations?

Thanks.

Many years ago my friends and I (as part of a youth group) went around the neighborhood and collected unused/unopen hygiene products. We donated it to the local women's shelter, which was greatly appreciated. They have a lot of domestic violence victims and other women in need, who come there with nothing. We had to check the yellow pages to find the place (we too were seeking a charity to send our donations too). Otherwise visit www.freecycle.org and join your local group. Then post "Offer: Hygiene products". We had someone pick ours up a few months ago, to send to soldiers over seas.

Good luck

Due to Public Health laws Charities cannot accept donations of personal care / hygiene products that may have been opened because of........you guessed it .........hygiene reasons.

IF, this is unopened stuff, some Churches put together "Shoe Boxes" that they send to underdeveloped countries to the children, you may call around and they may take the stuff.
