There is no real answer to this question but what I have learned of what love is to me and that is the word LOVE itself holds the answer.......
(L)isten: and Validate them by hearing and empathizing.
(O)verlook: their minor character flaws as they will overlook yours.
(V)alue: who they are and what they mean to you.
(E)xpress: how you love them not just with words but with actions.

What's the difference in "true love" and love? Love does fail (or end, rather)...it often has a beginning and an ending (although some claim they never stop loving certain people). Your statement is more fairy tale than reality...which is why people allow themselves to hurt more than they should when a relationship ends...they have this fairy tale idea that once they fall in love, it'll last forever and be riding-off-into-the-sunset perfect...that's just not reality most of the time...love is fabulous, exciting, wonderful, and something I cannot wait to experience again...
...but it can and does end...and that's okay...

love is patient love is kind love is not jealous and it does not brag...does not behave indecently, does not look for it's own interests, does not become provoked. It does not keep account of wrong doing, It does not rejoice over unrighteousness but rejoices with the truth. It bears all things believes all things hopes all things endures all things. Love never fails.

I love this guy alot but we can't seem to connect. I think about him all of the time and I know he thinks about me. Our love would go all the way to Pluto because we're so in love.
