I was also under depreesion some years back. I even tried to cut my wrist. But, then I realsised that what would happen to my family. So i talked all this with my best friend and I felt better. Do talk to someone dont bottle everything inside you. If you are afra=aid to see a doctor or someone, make a friend onlne with whom you can share your inner most feelings. There are goods friends on the net also. Cry and if you love to dance then dance. It would take away all the angry that you have bottled inside you. Music is very soothing. Listen to some soothing music and not the remixes. try soft music , Yoga or f there is a beach in your city, go and sit on the beach for some time. The sound ofthe waves are very soothing

Finding the right therapist is like buying a pair of shoes, some are more comfortable than others and fit better? Try looking for a therapist who is experienced and specialises in self harm. If you have been like this for 4 years perhaps now is the time to consider help again, unfortunately long term therapy is expensive but it will be so worth it to get your life back. All the very best to you.

I don't think there is a best method cause we are all different and so the causes are...and the intensity of it as well..
My Dad was depressed for 3 years and nothing will lift him up, no drugs, no exercise,no money, nothing he was just down to the bottom... No light in his room, no food, no TV, no showers,no going out, no talking, etc. I was a very rough time but one day he just stood up, took a decision and since then he is a "normal "person.
If you feel depressed you need to work on it and take THE
decision whichever it suits you!!!

Stop drinking alcoholic drinks. Take-up a good exercise routine and stick to it every day. You can start with something real easy and build-up to more strenuous exercise as your fitness improves. The well being you get from improved fitness helps with the depression. However, you may well need additional help with the removing the underlying cause if so see Dr

Please consult a health professional. Some insurance plans even provide a mental health number to call. There are many medications effective in treating depression. Finding out the root cause(s) and learning to cope is the key to long term wellness. That said.....I kept a daily journal of my accomplishments. Even if it was merely getting out of bed, showering and getting dressed, it was written in my journal. In myself, I looked for the qualities/attributes that I valued and noted those in my journal as well. I took Paxil and Effexor and was very glad when I no longer took them.
Depression does end. I still have ups and downs....everyone does. The key is to recognize when you need professional help and then get it.

there is no easy answers. a lot of it is up to you but you need help and support. see your gp for referral to services if in crisis go to accident and emergency and or phone helplines such as samaritans, mental health matters, nhs direct. if you have friends or family talk to them. why do you self harm you may need psychotherapy or cognitive behavior therapy. but take responsibility for your actions you are not alone and can get the support you need. practical things which are good are regular exercise such as walking, regular healthy diet, relaxation, challenging negative thinking, self talk, talk to friends etc. do not drink or take illicit substances this makes things worse. try activities and distraction. it is difficult as you probably feel unmotivated and tired but just set yourself small goals at first. it takes time and effort but it works. learn what you can about depression. your local nhs mental health teams can give you info and probably your gp.

No one else can heal you except you!
THe honest truth is that no one else can climb inside your mind and fix it. Yes, of coarse you don't know whats wrong but eventually with time you'll either repress all the sad, angry, crazy, thoughts that constantly cloud your mind allowing you to be "normal" or just forever be that way but I think you'll be fine! I'm fine to a certain degree. I was you not so long ago. Once you figure out how not to feel so deeply and think so intensly you'll be better!

Find a hobby that you love and do it constantly. I was very depressed a while back and Zoloft was not helping. It was just making me feel worse. I went out and started to find things to decorate my house to make it feel warm and relaxing. Then I expressed myself in acrylic paints. I made coffe shop signs and stuff like that. I even painted ornaments for my family or I would take requests and I would do my best to make it for them. I kept myself busy and I made myself very happy. I even made a little money on the side.
