your best bet is something small like a corsa or fiesta not only are they cheap but any problems are cheap to fix and the insurance is lower. Whatever you look at make sure you take someone with experience with you.
GOOD LUCK !

That is a very good queston. But the answer is not easy. First, I need to know your intension. Are you putting it in a Ford, Chevy, forign car. And what year. For example, If your wanting to put a V8 in a Vega for racing. I would go with 350 small block chevy. If you want to replace a bad motor in your corvette, then go with the L88 427 Chevy big block. Or, if it's a nice little economy car, then find a remanufactured original size to replace.

What type of motor are you referring to? If it's a car you mean, you should be able to get a decent Mazda for around 1000.

Either the best you can afford, and if it really isn't going to last or be good enough, wait and save some more...only you can tell. Also as you did not tell us what the motor is the only thing I can tell from your post is that you are in the UK.

Get a mate to take you to the local auction and buy the latest model you can. It would be a good idea to go along the first time just to see how it operates and then arrive early the second time so that you can preview all the suitable cars available.
