The jockey and their agent will go around a few days before the race to get mounts. The agent is in the racing office for the day of entries (usually 2-4 days before race day) and as the races are being drawn they figure out which jockey is riding which horse.

There is a rider fee $100.00-$500.00 which the owner pays. Then the jockey gets %10 of what the horse won in that race.
