Not to sound harsh, but maybe you can try playing a different position. If not setter, maybe hitter or ds. However, if you want to continue being a setter, a few drills may help. Get your volleyball and stand about a foot or two away from a wall, with your feet planted at a regular stance (parallel to your shoulders). Continuously set the ball to the wall, setting it at least eight feet into the air each time it comes down, but stay in the same spot. Another drill is lay on the ground, (like sit-up position) and have someone stand behind you (their feet about a foot away from your head. They will have the ball and gently drop it above your head. Have your hands at the ready and set it back up to them. The two drills will help you control and keep your sets constant.
Get with a teammate who is good and practice peppering, a sort of bump, set, spike drill. It will help you change positions quickly, from setting your teammate's bump to you, or practicing setting up by bumping to the right place.
Or, if your problem is positioning, you need to make sure that when you go to set the ball, you are completely under the ball and your hands are positioned in a way that your hands are tilted toward each other, and your your index fingers and thumbs make a triangle, and you set with your fingertips, not your palms. To practice, you can try to use only your thumbs, index, and middle fingers to get used to the motion.
Being a volleyball player myself (also a setter), I've learned that if your teammates fail to correctly get you the ball, it's not your fault. The best you can do is just set it up for the hitter by a simple bump, if you don't get it, it's okay. Hope my suggestions aren't complicated, and hope it works out for you.

To be a setter, you need to be a leader. Have confidence and take charge. It's like a quarterback in football except you don't get the recognition you deserve.
Ask your hitters for input. Are they too high or low? Are they too tight to the net or too far behind them?
Also tape a square on the floor where the set would land if no one hit it. Try to hit that spot over and over.
