No, I don't think that politics could be considered a religion. Some individuals may turn their love of power into idolatry, but who is their god? The mere love of power? That doesn't make sense.

No, politics is not a religion. Religion is the belief in God. Politics are the belief in human power and riches, and in ones own self with all its pride, selfishness, arrogance. They may be a god unto themselves, but they are not and never will be The God.

Politicians have nor religion, they would do anything to take the post and achieve their goals.
That is why we need religion to be our watch dog on the politicians, but religion should not run the show.
