I mean if you have never heard of neither Cannabis or Sugar before in your life, and I showed you a highly accurate and detailed report of both substances how many people do you think would say Sugar is way worse for you than cannabis??
I think the numbers would be overwhelmingly in favor of cannabis being better for you...

Ok heres a little more info... First off i know you need sugar to survive... im simply comparing the abuse of both substances to see witch is more harmfull... and i personally do belive its sugar.
Let me clear up some Stuff as well. Sugar less addictive than weed? thats hard to belive, less than 1% of cannabis users develope a physical or mental addiction to Marijuana. While i don't have statistics for sugar i can allmost garentee more kids/adults these days are addictied to sugar far more than they are to weed.
Cannabis has worse effects over time? Thats debateable... diabetes, obesity, rotting teeth, gastrointestinal cancer, high blood pressure, high cholesterol levels, low levels of physical activity all sound serouse to me...
While cannabis has about 2-4X more cancer causing components that Ciggrets, studys show long term abuse of cannabis is unlikley to caus cancer of the lungs or upper airways. they suspect that tabacco only causes cancer becuase of the radioactive soil.

Who thinks that? There is no comparison. Sugar or at least carboydrates are a need. The body converts half the protein intake and one tenth the fat to sugar for the body to use it. I personally think low carbohydrate diets are nonsense except for diabetics. Even they can eat some sweet if they balance it into their total sweet intake. Cannabis if used heavily can disrupt a life, cause failure in school, and other undesirable consequences.

I don't think so. Sugar is far less addictive than cannabis. And it is the addictive-ness that is harmfull - the fact that you need more and more to get the effect that a little bit used to give you in the beginning.
Now, cannabis vs. cigarettes - I think I'd go for cannabis. (Note: I am a non-smoker, non-canabis-consumer).
I do prefer honey to sugar myself, and brown to white sugar.

I don't see sugar as worse than cannabis, but neither are healthy. They affect different areas of the body. Used in moderation, cannabis has the worse effects over time.

This actually does raise some debate... Its funny how most of the people who responded don't know the true effects of weed, in small amounts sugar is better for you, but then again in small amounts weed isn't that bad for you either. the difference is you need sugar to survive.
In long term abuse? Id rather be a pot smoker any day than someone who abuses sugar.

Your body needs sugars to survive. The problem is that most people consume way too much sugar. Not only does your body not need cannabis, it starts doing damaging no matter how little you use.

I've never heard of anyone going to jail for possession of and the intent to distribute sugar. If I were pulled over by the police, I'd feel more comfortable having them search my trunk and finding 100 pounds of sugar. But seriously, the intake of sugar in moderation is no more dangerous than than the intake of water in moderation, and you need water to survive. Now ask yourself, do I need cannabis to survive? I think the answer might surprise you. But it comes as no suprise to someone like myself who quit twenty-five years ago and has never looked back.

"Highly detailed report of both substances..."
What are you reporting ? Their chemical structure? That doesn't tell me anything. Coal and diamonds are both Carbon, but no one gives a chunk of coal to their fiance.
Don't be ridiculous. Sugar, in various forms, is necessary for normal health. (I'm not saying you have to have two packets of sugar to live, but that the sugars naturally occuring in food is the way you receive the stored energy of plants.)
Cannabis is not.
Now, excess anything is bad for you. You can "drown" yourself by drinking too much water. (ALOT OF WATER) You can make yourself sick by eating excessive amounts of sugar, too. (ALOT OF SUGAR) These possibilities don't make water or sugar "bad" for you.

The problem with you argument is that sugar doesn't cause any of the problems that you claim it does. In each case the base underlying problem is something other than sugar.
weight problem - lack of exercise
teeth problem - not exclusive or special to sugar
diabetes - sugar is part of the answer more often than not, not the problem

Well, thats your free country that everybody gloats about, can't do **** and it just frustrates you don't it. You like smoking pot and so do all of your friends, and possibly your parents. You shouldn't even bring up the subject because the evil people outnumber us and it's pretty much usless. I personally enjoy having others tell me what I can and cant eat, smoke, or drink. God bless America, land of the free.
