Two evenings ago, I had a lovely dinner date (first) with a gentleman. The conversation was good, he complimented me on how lovely I looked, and we had a soft goodnight kiss. However, I have not heard from him about a second date. Am I being premature, or does this mean he probably isn't interested.

Not necessarily; he may just not want to seem too eager and look like he's needy. I'd say wait a few more days. Some guys just don't like to call right away. Don't keep your hopes up or you'll be disappointed if it doesn't work out, but don't get crushed now, because things just may turn out to have a happy ending. ;)

If he is a true gentleman he will call just to say he had a good time but isn't interested. There are still some good guys out there that don't want to be to forward. Give him a couple of days then give him a call. It doesn't hurt for the female to make the move. Good luck. If it doesn't work write me I'm looking

You may be being premature but .... most men are reluctant to offend women and don't want to indicate any negative feelings while on a date. They may even say they will call you but the only real test is whether they actually do. I normally give it no more than 3 days if I am really interested.

it could be any number of reasons. he may have had a great time as well. and maybe he simply was not interested in ersuing a relationship.
did you end the night by saying lets do this again soon or not?
did he say i'll call you? or did you say "call me"? maybe you ended the night someother fashion.
he may have lost your phone number.
i'd recomend if you have his number call him and ask him if he had a good time and if he was interested in repeating the date.
if he says no then you have your answer he obviously was not interested.
don't be down hearted there are plenty of geat guys out there. try another you cant get a winner everytime.

Might be premature depending on his work schedule etc. However if he had no other plans you would think he might have rung you up by now. Definitely see how long it takes him, and if more than 7 days go by I would expect a damn good excuse or "fuggitaboutit"

Some people have a two or three day wait period after a first date to call.....then again, maybe he was hoping for more than a kiss

First off, take into account, that two (2) days [MY TIME] was Friday/Saturday??
Perhaps he was Basking in the "Glow" of what he percieved to be a successful date. Give it until Wednesday 1800 hours-
if he hasn't contacted you by then- contact Him and communicate your thoughts- best of Luck wherever/whenever you are...

id wait a while before you get yourself in a frenzy. he might not want to seem eager so hes gonna wait a few days. if you dont hear from him by this weekend then id say hes not interested.
he might even call u tonite to see what ur doing for the july 4th celebration.

It is hard to tell, I probabbly think he won't call especially if you ordered the most expensive thing on teh menu or called the waiter(ess) names or were rude to them.
On the other hand he might call, wait for 5-7 days if he does not call then, he won't.
it is complex but simple
regards
