Want beautiful-looking hair? Whether your tresses are long and curly or short and straight, keeping your hair healthy and shiny is not as difficult as you might think. Although your hair care regime will depend largely on your hair type, there are some general tips everyone can follow for a healthy, shiny mane.

Trim your hair regularly to avoid split ends (short hair should be cut every 6 weeks, long hair every 8 to 12 weeks).

Use real bristle brushes. Throw away combs with missing teeth.

Go easy on relaxers, perms, and colors. When done in excess, these processes can cause dry brittle ends.

Always use conditioner in hair longer than 4 inches.

Choose hair care products that match your hair type.

I'm going through the same thing...I have really thin hair/I'm only 17, and everytime I wash my hair and blowdry it, i do it cool setting. My hair is dry , and I shed so much hair that I think I am going bald. Well what I did when it was worse I went to the beauty salon and the guy trimmed my hair, and after he was done, my hair didn't shed so much, actually not alot of hair was found in the bathtub. Well do not oill it...if you want your hair smooth and shiny, I suggest you buy Dove silky and smooth hair lotion...it smells so good and moisturizes my hair, I apply 4 pumps, and reaply it when needed. You can find it in stores, and it does not cost that much...Or you can buy the shampoo head & shoulders, the 2 in 1, but u gotta check on the back if it says it's for thinning hair. You can also get sunsilk, I do not have it, but my friend uses it, and makes her hair look so volumized/silky and healthy. Do not flat iron your hair. That's what completely daamaged my hair, and if you want to blowdry it do it in cool setting. When you dye your hair (if you do it) choose ammonia-free products....well i wish u luck <33

try trimming (not cutting!) ur hair about every 6 months or so. trimming the split ends will make ur hair grow faster by reducing the amount of breakage. and u should keep ur hair well moisturized w/ oils about 3 times a week or whenever u feel ur hair needs it. u could also try going to a hair salon and talking to the stylists about it :-) hope that helped u!

I f you're loosing hair, it's an early sign of keratinization or hardening of the skin. This means that your scalp no longer receives enough blood and nutrients that's why it fails to grow your hair. There are 2 kinds of scalp. 1st, thick and elastic and loose, 2nd, thin and tight. You can tell if you have a tight scalp if your scalp doesn't move with ardent pressure when you touch it with your finger. The solution here is a vigorous massage that will move your scalp. and I mean VIGOROUS to stimulate blood flow. Do this for 20 minutes everyday and to top it all of, PULL your hair. Yes pull your precious hair. Take a bundle and pull them so that the dirt that has been stuck will be removed from your hair follicles. Men in India have grown thick hair because of continuos hair pulling practices. Its important to encourage circulation even when you're still young. My mother did all of these things to me when i was young and my hair was very very thick. She stopped doing this when i was in my teens and i experienced hairfall.

shampoo every other day. Use a conditioner with treatment for dry or damage hair so that it can replace the lost oils from your hair that's causing the split ends. and cut your hair at least an inch every month.

I use wild growth oil on my HAIR 3 times a week. Not on my scalp, just massaged into my hair. Concentrate on the ends. Protein, moisture and regular trims. Also reduce heat styling, this kills the ends of the hair.

use a protein treatment ,,,first get a trim .....then get matrix protein packs ...do this three times a week...your hair is hollow from chemical treatments.........the protein treatments fills in the hollowness on your hair....slowly you will have to trim the damaged hair off but in order not to have to cut it all off do the treatments it makes a big difference and you will stop the hair lose...you will always have to use the protein till you healthy hair grows back in at the length you want it...but at least the packs will help till than ...after one week only use the packs once a week and get k-pack deep conditioner.........only at salons..good luck

I also have a lot of split ends, my hair doesnt fall out, but my hair is very damaged from coloring it. I assume you color your hair alot. Stop coloring and find a good conditioner.

don't shower so much that only helps your hair fall out. then get a haircut it will help the split ends. if you have gray hair from age or stress highlight or color your hair.
