I almost got a job for a member of a royal family. After beating 40 applicants it was down to myself and a female chef. The head chef said I was the most qualified and experienced but the boss gave it to the female chef because he said he wanted equality in the kitchen!! So does that mean I was discriminated against because I am a male??

Actually in the past, royal kitchens had both male and female cooks working together. Most of the time though, for chauvanistic reasons(in the past women were held in low esteem), the head of the kitchen or it's representative was usually a male.

Because women weren't allowed to become chef's, they could work in the kitchen, but not as a chef. Which is stupid because they say a womans place is in the kitchen, so why is a man invading it then?

because we can put up with the ludicrous heat of a working kitchen, we have more stamina, and we swear better when the crap hits the fan during service time...which it usually does.
