I believe everything is in the hands of one person. Your job is to comfort not only the family but more important is your uncle who needs all the energy you can give him. By being there and touching him you well give him strength that is weak body needs right now. You need to pray for God to take care of him no matter what the out come is. Positive feelings is the only thing that should enter is room. I believe in the power of touch, letting that person know you are there no matter what. By putting him in the hands of God there is a peace, that everyone needs to feel. My brother taught me alot about dieing when he passed, we were with him until god took him and all we felt was a wonderful peace surrounding his room. He couldn't be in better hands, God does'nt make mistakes, everything is for a reason. If it's his time thank God you can be there. I will pray for the healing of your uncle and also for the family. Be strong for everyone could use your strength right now,

I know all these things are running through your head right now, but really the answer is that just being there and showing your concern will be a great comfort to his wife and family. Its a cliche I know but the old cliches are usually right.
I hope everything turns out well and stay strong.

Just about everyone has said the same thing - be there for them. Ask if there's anything that you can do - even little things like doing the shopping or taking kids to school or whatever. Being there for them and actually being there are the two things that will help most. You don't have to offer advice - sometimes just listening to people can be the best thing for them. A problem shared is a problem halved. Strength to you my friend.

Be there for your family to offer support and a shoulder to cry on too. If he is Christian (or any religious persuasion really) then offer to pray for him (even if you are not particularly religious it will comfort him and family). You can also offer to help the family with chores such as cleaning, shopping, gardening and getting children to school so that they have more time to visit your uncle and also to rest themselves. Theres also the obvious stuff like getting a card, flowers, grapes etc. I hope that all goes well for your family.

I guess in those situations u dont have to do or say much.. Just let them know you are there for them and try to cheer the kids up.. Give them hope and if ur uncle is too bad just pray and hope urself too.. Don't give up..
I hope everything goes fine with ur uncle..

Last month one of my friend's dad died of cancer. I wasn't able to actually go be with her, but called her. She was so appreciative that I called. Just being there in any sense of the word will mean a lot to them. Going there, calling. Just be there. You don't have to do anything special really. Ask if there is anything you can take care of for them while he is recovering.

Hi, so sorry to hear your news, I think the best way to comfort your aunt and cousins is just to be there for them.

My thoughts are with you and your family, hope he's ok.

Just be there for them. Offer to take care of things for them that need to be done freeing up their time to be with him. Normal care and concern goes a long way.
