No, not exactly, but I have suffered from depression and I advise that you go and see your GP. You might want to have some counselling, that can be of great help.
It depends on the roots of your depression - and how long it has been there. Is there a specific reason, or reasons? Or does it seem to be random?
There are a lot of good self help books on depression - browse your local library, bookshop or Amazon.co.uk.
Ask friends and family to give you extra support - that helps.
Also - it has been proved that exercise help depression - though when depressed it is VERY hard to get motivated. Try an exercise class - if you are older, something gentle like Tai Chi, if young, whatever you like - kick boxing, swimming, running...If you are in a class or club it is easier to keep motivated.
Another thought is - depression is often supressed anger.
Hope this helps.

I have been depressed one time or another in my life but never to the point that I never want the sun to rise again. In a quote from one of my favorite gospel singers Mary Mary "in the morning you'll be alright, in the morning the sun is gonna shine, in the morning no clouds in the sky, when its dark in your life just wait for the daylight".

I was depressed to a point where I felt I could not move any longer. A cup fell on the floor of my living room - and I was not able to bend and pick it up any more. It felt like a huge task, like something I could not manage to do. Luckily, my depression passed without outside help, but I would not take the same chance again. Good luck to you, Sylvia

I've woken up dreading the day, but it usually passes. If you are felling this bad you really need to talk to someone. Start with your GP who should be able to recommend some good local counsellors.
If it is you who is feeling this way, don't ignore it - get help. If you are asking on behalf of a mate, make sure they do the same.

Yes at one stage it happened nearly every night and I couldn't sleep. But as the years past it got better. Besides I was Lucky because I knew that the next morning I would feel better. But that's just me. If it's serious I'd look at getting some help from a professional. Mine was uncomfortable but I could handle it.

Yes and it can be got over.
Speak to your doctor about Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. I(CBT) it is magic and works in a matter of weeks. Depression costs the UK economy 7billion pounds in lost revenue a year, treatment for it costs just 5million pounds. Everyone who is depressed should be encouraged to get CBT. I have done it and it works. Trust me.
If you want to get over it, you can.
Good luck.

Everyone feels like that, time to time. But you gotta help yourself, and not become a victim. No problem is that bad, or cant be solved. Just remember the positives and dont let go!

after suffering with depression on and off for ten years i know exactly what you mean and at times feel that everything is hopeless. i think sometimes you need to talk to somebody, be it a friend or a counsellor. its so easy to forget that things won't be like this forever and that you will find happiness. remember that you are not alone and that there are people who can help you. please look after yourself x
