Depends.
English and German is commonly used in Europe and probably for international relations.
On a population scale I guess Chinese and other languages spoken in countries which concetrate most of the world's population.
In general I'd say body language (although some gestures have different meanings in different cultures) because it is more universal, especially when refering to flirting.

Manderine Chinese is used by more people on earth that anyone else, simply because there are more Chinese!

the most 'common' language is english but the language most spoken in the world is madarin chinese. this is naturally due to the population.
