YES it is.
In love we seek to gain the others heart to accept us.
In war, we seek to kick the other guy's a$$ to reject it / accept us.
In both there's a 50/50 chance of success (which makes it fair).

Either the other person accepts/rejects us in love.
Either the other person defends or lets go his a$$ in war.

Now, a COIN has two sides. If u flip it, there's always a 50% indefinite chance of getting a heads/tails. Indefinite chance... . Compare this with love&war... ALL IS FAIR i may say.

[PS: this does not apply to Fred Flintstone...he has a 2-headed coin. the bastard never loses a bet with Bernie...!

No and Yes.
War in its real senses is won usually by those who use more fierce power, can kill more. When the purpose of war is to win...all the means involved to win the war are fair enough.
Love is different, in love if you win by cheating...you may as well feel as lost for the rest of your life. And if you've lost honestly...your love has won. in the long run it won't hurt you.

Unfortunately, the answer is yes, especially if you are dealing with people who have no scruples. A wise woman (my mom) once told me (or several hundred times) "who ever said life was fair?" I hated that phrase as much today as I did when I was a kid. If your lover is doing you wrong, then dump him/her and find two more that are better looking.
