i think the most important part to this quote is the last couple of words, "learning from failure". If you do not do this, you'll never know what is right or wrong. It takes times learning from your mistakes as well.

you are true in saying that there is no secrets to success and the three points you have given is rational but before that the identification of goal is necessary since you have to decide first what are u going to do then u go ahead and figure it out how to do it
and then your three points come into play.All successful people have one thing in common put first thing first so keep it mind too ;)
