I see that majority of my India counterparts end up working for an IT firm even after a degree in conventional branches of engineering, just for the sake of money. For a developing nation like India, there are many other basic problems of power-cut,infrastructure...etc... need to be solved before making smaller and smaller PCs and mobiles and other unneccasary softwares. Why don't they realise this?Advancement in IT,defence and aerospace make sense for the developed nations where the basic problems have been solved decades ago.So wake up.

Because today we don't have time to help society because so many are interested in careers or they need to hold jobs so they can support themselves that contributing to anything else is just too much. but i think America would be a much stronger country if we did help out society more.

How can people contribute to society without money? Don't tell me they can volunteer, because it takes money to afford the time off to volunteer. Who contributes more to society, some poor person with really good intentions, or someone who's been "running for money" like Bill Gates or Warren Buffett? I know that seems like a very easy question, but maybe you should think carefully about it.

.........being a 20 year old without a job doesn't give many opportunities for contribution but just mowing gras and cleaning streets for free....That is power and finaning that can make a difference- grants for organizatuions that help homeless kids, orphanhouses etc...When i was still in shool we went to orphanage and made a New Year for them, we got several kiloes of candies sang etc...That is good no questions but that is nopt enough...
If i make a carear I could do much more by financing projects that are building new houeses, get food do something global.
But everything starts from somethind less global - no doubt about that.

when you get everything you wanted in life, you start thinking about what is more important to you as a human being, including helping others and contributing to the society. As far as money is concerned, it can certainly buy you nice things. people run after it, maybe to satisfy their desires and there isn't anything wrong with it. learn to take care of yourself first, and then the society.
