A black stool usually means that the blood is coming from the upper part of the gastrointestinal (GI) tract
Red-colored stools or bright red blood usually suggest that the blood is coming from the lower part of the GI tract
Stools that are pale or grey are often caused by insufficient bile output due to conditions such as cholecystitis, gallstones, giardia parasitic infection, hepatitis, chronic pancreatitis, or cirrhosis.
Pale stools are the use of antacids that contain aluminum hydroxide. Stools may also temporarily become pale after a barium enema test.
Yellow stools can indicate that food passed through the digestive tract relatively quickly.
Yellow stools are often found in people with GERD (gastroesophageal reflux disease). Symptoms of GERD include heartburn, chest pain, sore throat, chronic cough, and wheezing. Symptoms are usually worse when lying down or bending. Foods that can worsen GERD symptoms include peppermint, fatty foods, alcohol, coffee, and chocolate.
Yellow stools can also be caused by insuffient bile output. Bile salts from the liver gives stools their brownish color. When bile output is diminished, it often first appears as yellow stools. If there is a greater reduction in bile output, stools lose almost all of their color, becoming pale or grey.
If the onset is sudden, yellow stools can also be a sign of a bacterial infection in the intestines.
Hope that answers your question.

There is a lot of information about this in conventional medicine. A pale yellow or whitish stool generally means that there is insufficient bile and porphyria deposition. This normally means that there is a problem with the stools moving through the body too quickly.

pale yellow means breads, pasta...too many carbs
you are what you eat....be careful...avoid corn, like
corn on the cob, or whole kernnels...these lodge in
the colon and can cause problems...when corn is
digested it usually keeps its form, the body can't digest
it and it is just an ornament on your plate that looks good
and tastes yummy but it doesn't make your stool pale yellow.
Breads and pastas will. Eat vegetables at every meal, snack
on them between meals, throw out the candy, & chips!
Death begins in the colon....you should have at least 2 bowl
movements a day for a healty colon avoid carbs in the form
of pastas and breads .... doughnuts, cookies and pizza...these
should be limited to small amounts and special occasions.

Some simple ayurvedic remedy can also be suggested, but simple home remedy of taking 1 glass of lemon water thrice a day itself should be adequate, if color is slight yellowish, not total white. 15 days lemon water thrice a day and eat only rich+lentil Khitchri. That will restore liver to original momentum, stools will improve in color.
