broke up with boyfriend and stopped feeling hungry cos was so upset. now 2 months later the thought of eating just feels like far far too much effort. i used to have such a big appetite. i'm small anyway and i'm starting to look very thin and people are noticing. but for some reason i can't make myself eat cos it makes me feel sick. i used to love my food. why is this - it's getting a bit scary cos i eat like an avocado or banana a day and i know that's not normal...what do i do to get appetite back?

This often happens after break ups. You need to start feeling better about yourself and life in general. Have you thought about seeing a counselor? Maybe there are a few things regarding this breakup that you still need to work through.
This happened to me once and once I started getting out more and getting over the situation I started eating more. Two months is not a long time to get over a meaningful relationship.
Get together with some friends and plan a night out and go to a new restaurant...have some wine, order some fun dishes and have a lot of laughs. Be kind to yourself and know this will pass and you will be back to the old you in no time.

you need to go to a therapist and they can really help you. it's good that you recognize that there is a problem.
in the meantime the reason you don't have an appetite is probably because you have gotten used to not eating. start slow. drink a glass of water and eat something semi liquid. i can't eat sometimes when i get really bad cramps, and after a few days i get like you, so when i do finally eat i like to have some yogurt with cut up fruit or berries. no heavy meat or other animal products or sugar in the first few days. stick to fruits veggies and whole grains, and if you do eat the other stuff, phase it in slowly.
