The bible is a book of mythology.

The Roman Empire had been attempting to consolidate the competing religions into one universal religion for over two hundred years before Constantine managed to invent his Universal Religion in 325 CE (ad).

It is more a matter of circumstance than anything else.

God did not come to the earth and kill himself for any reason. And, he could not have done so because he doesn't exist in the first place.

It was a time of strife for the Jewish people. Messiahs were poping up all over the place. If you take several historical accounts of diffrent "messiahs" and mesh them together you get Jesus. Then you add Paul/Saul in as the first Apologist and you get Christianity. 300 years later the cannon was developed with many diffrent accounts of Jesus.

Gods plan is as unfathomable as His time is infinite. If we think within the constraints of human time frame, then we'll hit a brick wall. The whole purpose of Jesus coming is not in the details but in the reason. Details are merely to identify the purpose of God with the human course.

Because Emperor Constantine decided so! Before you think wrong about me, think! Constantine established and implied Christianity to the whole Roman Empire! All emperors, with he exception of Julian the Magnificent, imposed Christianity and were ordering the extermination of those who were not Christians or Jews!
Thus, Constantine had to discover/ make up someone and disciples, and the whole story in order to create a unique religion. It had to be several generation before his time and not very distant in time! Thus, 3 centuries was selected and decided! Thus, it had to be before Constantine rein, ....
