I'd like you to tell me where do/did you study (country and, if you want, university), what do/did you study and if you learn/learned Greek or Ancient Greek.
If someone learned Greek when in High-School, I would be very impressed to hear it...

I didn't learn it in school...I taught myself a little (Modern) Greek before I traveled to Greece for a visit. I used a dictionary most of the time, but I learned enough to ask "Pu inei i barka?" ("Where is the boat?") in the port at Piraeus where *nobody* spoke English. It was only once I was on the ferry--a huge ship large enough for several tour buses to park inside--that I found out that "barka" means a little rowboat... I guess it was good enough; it got me to the ferry!!

I learned Greek the first 2 years in High School, in the Netherlands. The best students got to choose and there were about 25 who did.

I learnt greek in high school but you shouldn't be impressed because I am actually a greek! On the other hand, I am very impressed and flattered when other people try to utter even a few words in my language and do not expect the entire greek population to speak their language and with the exact accent that they use! (the word "learnt" in the beginning is not a grammatical error but an older english version of the word learned and I prefer it to the more modern and simplified one!
