You are shifting the burden of proof. Look at it this way. If I say I have an Invisable Pink Unicorn and you say I don't. Could you prove that I don't? The burden of proof fallsy on your sholders to prove your claim.
Lets try to eliminate just your version of God.
1. Is he all powerful?
2. Is he all good?
3. Does evil exist?
If 1 and 2 are true then 3 is false. If 3 is true then 1 and/or 2 are false. Since we all admit that evil exists then we must conclude that God either is unable to stop evil or is able to stop it and does not.
This does not eliminate all forms of diety but it does put the Christian God into question.

Hmm... impossible to demonstrate!
Why I'm an athiest?
1) I was brought up with the scripture but so much in the bible doesn't make sense. e.g. bible contradictions, burning bushes, Noah's ark, Earth created in 7 days, 6,000 years ago! This flies in the face of common sense and scientific evidence.
2) We can't grapple with complex scientific ideas easily - much easier for us to believe in the existence of a creator than the big bang theory.
3) Heaven & Hell? If you are a good boy on Earth and don't sin you will go to heaven and live with eternal happiness. It does sound a bit far fetched, like the end of a Disney movie but can you honestly say that real life is like that!
There may be a creator but we haven't met "him" because his existence is beyond our comprehension! I'm willing to accept that possibility, just not religion!
Ask yourself this - a lot of people claim to know God, they claim that God speaks to them but if this were true, why do so many people violate the ten commandants, doing horribly nasty things to each other to the extreme! If I was 110% certain that God existed, which many claim, and that everything in the bible were true, I would be so scared to put one foot out of place, in case I would never set foot in Heaven and yet hordes of devoted christians (as well as other faiths) cheat, murder, commit affairs, steal, even loving their neighbour is impossible! I think everybody has some doubt - just like atheists! If we didn't, this world would be a better place, with no sin!

It all comes down to this: What reason do we have to believe that the Christian God exists and other Gods -- like the Islam God -- don't? Neither of them have any scientific backing, regardless of what anyone says, and all of them "just take faith." So what makes one right and not the other? I think that's why a lot of people are skeptical about religion.
Just for the record, I'm not athiest, either... I'm one of those "human beings can never really know the truth" people. Call me agnostic if you want.

I can give some proofs that God exists. But the proof of his existance is all around us, how could all this happen by accident.
I think that people become athiest because people are mad at God. they have had a bad experiance and think god doesn't cre, or they have just been raised that way. Also they may have such a low moral fiber that they refuse to believe in a god lest they be punished. however, It is in human nature to believe in a god of some sort, be it money, or power evenm not just traditional gods.

Hello dear!
We are approaching this from the wrong side!
How can I prove that something does not exist? How can you prove zero exists?
Those who claim there is, let them prove it!
Since you are an open minded, means you use your brain, thus you think, so, you do not need to believe! You "know" using your mind and senses! According to rulers there are gods and they imply the religions in order to prolong their rein! Isn't that simple?
If there was a god and if god created all of us would he be favorable to some and not to others? If the first, why god never appeared to you and me but only to rulers, who are telling us their truth and in return they rein over us, our property, lives, families, etc.?

There is no proof of any of the ten thousand gods or so that humans have created over our history. Therefore, as it stands now, there appears to be none, so we should act as though there are none.
I also say that I don`t believe in unicorns and leprechauns for the very same reason. People would think I was a fool if I did and treat me appropriately. Just replace the word "god" in your question with "Zeus", "Thor", "Santa Claus", an so on. You get the idea.

The wording of your question infers that I am denying something that has been proven to exist.
Just as the burden of proof in a court of law lies with the prosecutor and not the defendent, or in the science laboratory the burden of proof lies with those creating the hypothesis and not with those who question it, so it is with religion. It is those who claim a "god" exists that must prove it, not those who refuse to believe. I do not have to tell you "Why 'god' doesn't exist"; rather, it is you and other theists who must prove that one does exist. The atheist is the one who refutes, thus neither he or I must prove it.
For theists to admit the burden of proof lies with them, the believer, and that they cannot prove that a "god" exists, DOES NOT require the religious to give up their beliefs or change them in any way.
My argument respects the views of the religious, while it forces the religious to respect my views, something they currently do not do. That is the entire reason WHY many theists wish to shift the burden of proof: because they lack respect for atheists, and NOT because their argument "right".

If he existed, no one would (seriously) question his existence.
If he existed, those who claim to know he exists would describe him the same general way. Click on my profile picture and read the answers to the top two questions. Those are answers from people who claim to know God exists (with a couple of exceptions from the usually cutesy crowd).
I am still trying to figure out how to rate "best answer" out of that mish-mash of what I consider non-response to the question asked.
I rest my case.
Atheism is the only logical choice.

People got 5 senses. (See, feel, hear, smell, taste)
So when a person don't get God into his/her 5 senses they think God does not exist. Nothing wrong with one's beleif.
But when talking about God, it's all about ones' Faith.
People find themselves good and strong when they beleive in something.

For all the ppl who say it is Gods will this and that i say : BULLS**T.
God gave us the Free Will so we cannot possibly say it is Gods will if something goes bad. God only gave us "guidelines", that is what the Bible (that is if God indeed gave the bible to Moses) is for.
God does not intervene in any way and that is why most atheists become what they are. God is spiritual not physical, he can't give us physical signs of his existence, only spiritual.
