I love my red hair and so does everyone else I know. You know it looks good when strangers tell you how beautiful your hair is. Ask most red heads and I'm sure they will tell you it's been happening to them too, for years.

I think pale skin and red hair can be very striking, but generally "ginger" refers to the dull orange color, not deep, rich auburn. Notably, many gingers have coarse, tight curls. If your color is more of an orange red, it may not be as flattering as it could be. To keep things natural and flattering, avoid dying your hair to an extreme color that is too far from your natural color.

A very good solution for gingers is to do a semi-permanent or demi-permanent peroxide-free color "glaze" in a more auburn or brown-red color, to cancel out the orange tones. Think Julianne Moore instead of CarrotTop. Another great look is lowlights, which are like a dark version of highlights. With lowlights, you add darker, richer cherry red and mahogany tones to your hair, adding richness and depth. Or you could do a combination of highlights in a copper color with lowlights in an auburn color. For these types of alterations, it's best to visit a professional colorist.

Try not to dye your hair blonde if you are a ginger. It almost always comes out brassy and ugly. Even Lindsay Lohan didn't look as good as a blonde, and she had a professional colorist. Auburn reds are gorgeous, but orange reds aren't always that good, so again, a color glaze or lowlights seem to be more flattering than straight orange.

My boyfriend had red hair (my friends call him ginger) and to be honest it was his hair color that made me go up to him and talk to him the first tim I saw him. Year and a half later I still love his red hair.......perhaps because I have sandy red hair that I love it who knows.

I am ginger (light red blonde) and think it is lovely on women but loses its appeal on a man...for example David Caruso...I know that is biased of me...I'm a gingist

Mmm, not at all.
I think ginger-headed girls are very attractive.
I'm ginger too, I don't really enjoy it, I actually die my hair jet black.
But, hey, gingers are cool :)

Not at all. In fact, I think red hair is quite sexy, especially on men.
