Ok guys, no matter how faithful you are, or how thickheaded, you have always have doubts and curiousity, and questions about the beginning of hte universe. So, even if there was a god, he cannot just appear out of nowhere, he has to come from somewhere, and to say that he has alway existed, wouldnt that be admitting that the universe has always existed proving that he did not make the universe? A book i have read by Scott Card talks about a theory in the future, where there is space travel and whatnot. this book is very good, and even the devout followers of any religion should be able to ready this they are, in fact, devout to their religion. If you are interested send me a pm, but we can discuss this topic here. =)

My opinion is that The Universe was not created by God. Answering who created the Universe is answering the Question of life.
God on the other hand in my vision is an entity far more intelligent than us (after all we are using only 5-6 % of our brains), but not all mighty, just superior to us.
In some theories God is actually the power and laws of the Universe. the reference to Hell might be the existence of anti-mater, cause u know that when mater meats anti-mater they both destroy themselves.

In some Chinese books i have read that life on earth and humanity development has been helped by humanoid beings from other planets. Could it be that what we call God and the power of God be actually aliens?

This is how I see it...

God is the Alpha and the Omega... the first and last... this is, was, and ever will be.

What other phenomena is also like that? Always constant? Cannot be created or destroyed?

Energy is the one ultimate constant in the universe. It cannot be created nor destroyed.

Just as energy has always been so has God.

Mind boggling but a good argument.

Saying that God was always there doesn't mean that the universe has always been there. The spiritual plane is completely different from the physical. So one can exist without the other.

As interesting as this topic is, human beings are just going to have to accept that there's never going to be a satisfying answer to that question. It's beyond our mental capacity to handle the thought of "nothing". You can trace the history of the universe all the way back to the Big Bang. Well, what started the Big Bang? Then you get into the multiple universe theory and all that. Well, what started the multiple universe? No matter what you come up with, there's always going to be a "Well, what started ____?" following it. Not that it isn't interesting to think about, but it's going to continue to be one of life's great unknowns.

Something has always had to exist for there to be existence at all. If that something is God, then the universe didn't always have to exist. We have a difficult time understanding how a being could have always been, without a beginning, because it is completely foreign to our own experience.

It makes more sense to me that an intelligent being always existed, rather than a non-intelligent non-being, which only happened by chance to create a rational and highly intelligent universe.

why would the Universe always exist? Man in a place where is no time, there is no time....there is no such thing as beginning or end in a place where is no time.
But in the Universe there is time. On Earth there is time....in space there is time...
