either your x is trying to see the child like some sort of denied father...or he has something for her (or you for that case) talk to him....work out a system of yesses and nos and leave a note for him to read...if you can see him, I'm positive he can read when he sees you. Let him know he is dead and everythingis fine.
If he persists, take a piece of amythyst or other stone precious to YOU and tie it up with string...your choice. Seal the end down with wax and place everything you can think of as protection upon this stone and then hide the stone over the more prominent door way....feel frell to make additionals to place over other doorways. In theory that should keep his restless spirit confined to atleast certain room if not away from the whole house together.

Talk to him and tell him to go where he belongs.
Maybe he didn't understand that he died, that he changed dimensions and comes to play volleyball with your daughter. Talk to him and pray for him.
I had the same thing with my son's grandfather, 3 days ago.
Don't try to get any signs, it's not good. If you see that you feel his presence again, find someone who knows about these things or a priest, so to help you

You could take his child to visit his grave once a year. Maybe choose a special day for it. Take a picnic and flowers. Tell her about good things about him while you are there. Let her play. Pray for him before you leave.
