27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.
28 God blessed them and said to them, "Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air and over every living creature that moves on the ground." (Genesis 1:27-28).
God created human beings "Male and Female", with the specific purpose of bearing children, "Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth... and this was written in times of Moses about 4500 years ago.
Okay, then there are those that say Jesus never spoke anything saying something was wrong with being gay.
Matthew 19:4-6
4And he answered and said unto them, Have ye not read, that he which made them at the beginning made them male and female,
5And said, For this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife: and they twain shall be one flesh?
6Wherefore they are no more twain, but one flesh. What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder.
And there are more places than that as well. You need to understand, Jesus did not call out each and every sin in the world, that was not needed. When He makes reference to how God the Father made things in the beginning, He is plainly letting you know and addressing it there, that this is a union of a man and a woman. If such was not needed and we were to be of the same sex and be with each other, God would have only made ONE sex. It is repulsive, an abomination, and non-productive. So you argue, "Well, other Christians fornicate, lie, cheat, steal, etc.". Is that going to be your justification to God the Father on Judgement Day. All humans, inluding those who are saved must account for their life in the end. In so many ways God has spoken this to be an abomination, and clearly says "abomination" yet you choose to continue living that way second after second. It is not natural, moral, or okay. When is the last time you saw a homosexual animal? We are so much more advanced than them and the animals know it is not right. I ask you to think, what will I say on Judgement Day?

i don't really think gay "civil unions" are a matter to be concerned with. Yet we do live in a democratic society where the majority gets to determine issues like this. Some are simply afraid that if the culture comes to a general acceptance of this, then it will be difficult to teach their kids that it is in disagreement with their faith.
While i do no support gay marriage, or a union of same sex, by the Church, i do not see how it is my business if the state wants to recognize gay unions and offer life insurance and tax incentives to these couples. God has set a standard, but he does not force us to live by it. How then can i force someone to live by those standards? What the state and Church do are very separate matters.

Because marriage is a christian ceremony that should be kept within it's intended place, and in the bible marriage is between a man and a women. If they want to have a civil union more power to them just stay away from gods first covenant.

First pleas do not call such a despicable relation as " Marriage ".
Marriage is the highest relation in humanity , between male and female for the creation of a family.
Gay "sex relation" is a pure homosexuality, which is unnatural relation between same sex.
It is a Sin.
It is disgusting.
It is unnatural.

There are no rational reasons but only reasons connected to religion or politics...if there are any others I'd really like to hear them.
Religious people wanting to impose their religious laws onto everybody even those who are not of their religion ...and politicians who think they can benefit from pandering to the religious lobby.
What part of Secular Government don't they understand?

I believe marriage is a God given institution for One man and One woman. God made Adam and Eve. Not Adam and Steve!

Let them move to a State that permits it. I know 1 State that never will, that is all I care about.
As long as people vote, I don't see it going anywhere.

hell no. people should be free to love whoever they want. i in no way am threatened by gay people. as a matter of fact i absolutely LOVE lesbians!
no one person or group should decide who other peopl can have relationships with. if the conservatives get their way then next we'll have segregated marraiges (no interracial marraiges).

It's inmoral. and I'm glad Bush put a stop to it. That's the only good thing that man has done, and i applaud him just for that. Even if i don't agree with anything else.
