I get paid monthly and spend about £50-£60 on loo rolls washing detergents kitchen roll and dishwasher tablets for three/four of us, for that month. then about £90 a week on food and toiletries and then another £20 to £40 in a week on bits my wife has forgotten!! So far to much really. And we have had to start shopping at Aldi's for some of it cos Tesco is getting too expensive!!

I live in UK with partner and two teenage sons (and then there are the cats, the fish, the wild birds and the hangers on!)
I have also always thought that good food is a priority - helps build growing lads, gives a good incentive for hard working families....and it is delicious.
In the grocery bill I include not only food but toiletries - tissues, shampoo, etc, cat food, bird seed and other oddments!
We eat quite a healthy diet (including meat) and don't smoke but the adults in the family drink quite a lot of wine.
I think all these factors are important otherwise the statistics can be meaningless.
We spend an average of £100.00 a week at Sainsburys or Tescos - sometimes more.
I will be interested to compare prices.

I'm in the UK and spend about £125 - 150 per week. That includes fuel for the car and most of the childrens extras - new shoes/clothes etc.
There are 2 adults and 2 children ages 5 & 8.
I tend to shop at Tesco. At least that means I can get everything I need for the family in one go without having to trawl around the high street or worry about parking.
I occasionally think I spend too much, but I work, therefore I'll not be stingy and don't like making do.............!!

About £40 for two adults, one dog, and 38 fish. The dog alone costs £10 a week. Sometimes a little less, but average about £40. When I lived on my own I spent just £12. I think £12 is a good figure, multiply it by the number of people in your houshold. You'll end up getting more out of it than fora single person as it does not cost twice as much to feed two people as it does to feed one person.

theres no such amount as normal to spend on grocery. You spend as much or as little as you can afford. If you want it and have the money get it. You only live once, enjoy it.
