Because the war is not over! The terrorist organizations are not completely broken down yet. When its over you will know. I would much rather us be over than than those twisted Iraqi psychos be over here blowing things up.

why are our troops in iraq? well theres a job to be done we cant just cut ties and run weve lost alot of good men.and to leave would mean they all died for nothing.theres a meaning most peope miss in war because they havent been there its not just your team memeber you see lying dead in a street its a friend not like a friend you hang out with on saturday night but a true friend who would carry you 10 miles wounded if he had to.im ex army
i know.however i think we should clear out the prison low lifes and let them do a little fighting to.and start the draft maybe some of these baggy pants wearing sissys might make a good recruit
theres alot of good men dying why is all the scum still walking around america.i say round them up and give them a gun and send them to--18 to 40yrs old if you can carry a weapon your in.

They really do have to stabilise the country and fight the terrorists that are there now, I was totally against the made up reasons for this war, but now that we have destroyed all their infrastructure, we have to help them stand on their own two feet, and even though there was not a very significant terrorist presence in Iraq before the war, there is a very significant presence there now, and we must kill them, even though it's really not doing much for America like people would have you believe, since Al-queada has agents and cells in dozens of countries, but some people like to believe that if we kill a few over there, that it is going to prevent the next 9-11. Ignorance is bliss I guess

I believe George Bush addressed this question in one of his radio speeches.
Our troops will be in Iraq till 2008.
He doesn't want to make the same mistake his dad made in the first Gulf War...
Abandon a country prematurely, when they need help.

becasue the war isn't over.
Why are our troops still in Germany? WWII ended in 1945.
Why are our troops still in Korea that war has been over for more than 40 years.
Why are our troops in Japan?
Why are they in other locations throughout the world?
Because the UN wants American troops to act as peace keepers, and because our troops are the only ones with enough balls to step up to the plate and do anything about the injustices in the world.

Because allies don't complete their mission of getting wealth out of Iraq that is why troops are forced to be there.

Because "Mr. Bush" could not find Bin Ladin. So he thought he would shift the America's way of thinking by making them think Sadam Husein was behind the whole 9-11 thing by "Stopping the war on Terror". He was looking for an excuse to go after somebody that "Threatened" his dad..
Which was Sadam Husein . He seen opportunity there and he took it. Not caring at all what happened to those poor people on the planes , towers, or Pentagon. No peace for them still because there killer is still free...... BIN LADIN Thanks to Bush!!!

AirborneSaint your arrogance about your military is laughable. I do believe every country has the guts to stand up against something, it's just your narrow minded president feels he has to be everywhere and prove to the world that America is the Omega that we would be nothing without him... guess what!? We wouldn't be in a state of constant warfare without you Americans. Now Australans are true peace keepers... we stop the fight and clean up the mess.
