Simple answer: You can't.

Ursodeoxycholic acid has been the nearest attempt at medical therapy but it does not work.
Extracorporeal shockwave lithotripsy (the ultrasound method) is only used for kidney stones, it is not appropriate for cholelithiasis and is positively dangerous as fragmentation of gall stones can lead to subsequent biliary obstruction, sepsis and pancreatitis.

Surgery if the only way of getting rid of gall stones BUT you can palliate symptoms on some patients by adhering to a strict low fat diet (dietary fat stimlates cholecystokinin secretion causing the gall bladder to contract to help you secrete more bile and digest fat).

Of course the other important question is you need to be sure your symptoms ARE those of biliary colic or other pathological sequellae of gall stones (such as cholecystitis, chalngiitis or pancreatitis).

Otherwise, removing the gall stones will be pointless. It is surprising how many other conditions mimic these symptoms, simply finding gall stones on ulstrasonography does not guarantee they are the culprit of you symptoms if the clinical picture does not fit.

Gall stones CAN occassionally be completely asymptommatic.

Anyway, laparoscopic cholecystectomies are relatively safe with fast recovery and minimal scarring and are more or less the gold standard now in gall stone therapy.

there isnt a way to get rid of gall stones without removing them. they dont just disolve or anything like that. but if you are having gallbladder attacks, you can cut back on the fatty foods, and this may help with the number of attacks you get.

there is really no other way. with out surgery your symptoms will only get worse. You gallbladder can even become infected and cause life threatening conditions. the surgery it self only takes about 10 minutes and with no complications you usually can go home the same day.

Sometimes they can do an ultrasonic bath where you sit in a tub and they use ultrasound to break up the stones. Ask your doc for a referral to a specialist to find out what all of the options are.
