I am very unhappy and need to talk with someone and the suicide hotline is all I can think of. Can I call it even though I am not thinking of suicide?

Mary, absolutely. Please call them right away. Do not wait for other answers, they will be waiting for you, but first make that call. Please do. We all care for you, we do.

Mary, also go visit http://postsecretblogspot.com and have a chat there. Good luck and let us know how it goes.

well you should really only use that if you are thinking of suicide.

However there is the Girls and Boys Town National Hot-line they are willing to discuss any problem, at any time day or night they are a great resource.

Call With any Problem, Anytime
1-800-448-3000 (TDD 1-800-448-1833)

Please talk to someone. If not the suicide hotline, there are probably other phone numbers designed for regular people such as yourself, who just need to talk. Google "depression hotline" for a list.

yes, sure you can if by calling can alleviate the sadness or depression that you feel at the moment. Talking to people will really perks you up. Why don't you discuss it with somebody you trust like for example your family or very close friend perhaps?

they prefer real calls only, there might be someone who really needs to talk to them. You could be tying up a line that is really needed. Try to blow off some steam on your own, watch some TV, or listen to some radio, or enjoy some sleep. Sleep it off.

yes you can talk to them but they are going to take you as someone who needs help right off the bat till they talk to you more aand find out that you truely do not want to end it. if that is the case they may want to meet you in person to see if your telling the truth too
