Also there's an exercise I do which exercises the lower stomach area. You take a barbell and pick it up to your waist level and hold it there and try to bring it up to your chest area and that's considered one rep. Your arms are in a position like your riding a motorcycle as your trying to bring the barbell up to your chest from your waist area. I do these. Anybody think this will build muscle in the lower ab and get rid of the tummy pouch that I have?

It will make the underlying muscles firmer and eventually bigger, but stomach/body fat is removed naturally only if there is a deficit in your calorie intake, to lose weight, one must eat less calories per day than the calories you burn so that your body will tap on those fat reserves.

Yes. they get rid of the lower stomach fat. This happens however, over a period of time. You must be able to do at least 25 per time in 3 repetitions. Further, if you can also combine 25 sit ups along with leg ups alternating each 3 times then the benefit would be immense and quick. However, a point to be noted is that any exercise would generally remove your fat and not just the specific part of the body which you are concentrating on. The only outcome of specific part exercising is that it becomes hard and hence does not sag.

Take some advice from a bodybuilder with 30 years experience. The best way to reduce stomach fat is to to daily aerobic training and to reduce your fat and sweets intake. Secondly, train all of your other body parts with weights. Muscle burns a lot of fat. Body fat does not burn fat. Eat several small meals per day with each meal being 50% to 60% complex carbs, 25% to 33% protein, and the remainder fat. This is called a 3:2:1 diet or bodybuilder's diet. Before your weight workout do lots of stretching and do the cardio after your weight workout. Do about 10 to 12 sets per body part and never work a bodypart 2 days in a row or more than twice in 1 week. The exception are Calves. Go for it!!!!!

Shawn the answer is NO, you see the only thing that gets rid of fat is DIET. Think of it like this. Everyone on the planet has GREAT abs, even 500 pounders. They are just under layers and layers of fat. The exercise is gonna make you abs stronger but your not gonna see em until you shed BODY FAT. That is done with diet, and exercise-mainly cardo.

nope and i will repeat it one more time

THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS SPOT REDUCTION

no one exercise reduces fat on any "targeted" area.. fat loss is a general concept and exercise burns calories as a whole... you may, however, strengthen the muscles involved in performing this exercise

Sorry, but when you lose weight you lose it all over your body, you can't target one particular area.
