Do many fathers feel a sexual urge towards there daughters?, And how would you know?
This is not a joke so please give your best advice.
Im asking this for my sisters saftey.

first of all , u have to look at who's anwsering u , 99 % of them are women, women have no idea what goes tthrough a mans mind, they know what a man tells them , but not what they are really thinking, it is very normal for a man to have thoses thoughts, now wether he acts on them is something different, many men fantisize, about being with a young girl, but would never take it any farther than mere fantasy, partly becaus of society 's views, partly because of the way they were raised, also the fear of getting caught or the girl saying no, and open sexuality in a family is not a bad thing, if a lot more people were raised with it u would not have soo much narowed minded ness, as u find on here, ,,,,,,,though if u truly believe, and u have proof that something is going on , bring it out in the open , he may not relize his actions, or they may be being misconstrude, ,,,,,, but u dont want to accuse that of someone if u are not 100% sure of what is going on, for if u do u may cause problems that may never be able to be fixed ,, especialty if ur wrong,

Men who feel a sexual attraction to their own daughters, granddaughters , children and so on are mentally sick. Not that that should be used as an excuse by them, it is just a medical fact. If your sister feels threatened or she has children of her own that feel threatened by your father you need to seek help for all of you ASAP. Contact your family Dr. 1st and find out what is available in your area. If your father has done nothing but flirt at this point, start there. If however he has made actual inappropriate bodily contact. Call the police! I was abused sexually by my grandfather since early childhood, until I became a teenager I thought this was ok. Now 37 yrs later I only wish that there was help for me then, like there is for girls now.

I suspect it is much more common than people would like to admit.
If you think about it, if no fathers felt a sexual urge to their daughters, we wouldn't hear so many stories of child abuse - it just wouldn't happen. Hell, its so common there's even a name for it!
That doesn't make it right by any stretch of the imagination, it merely acknowledges the problem.
It's not normal, but its not exactly unknown either. If you suspect this is the case in your family, then you need to seek help, even if only as a precaution.

A normal Father- jokes around with his kids,protects them,if they have something on that shows to much he might tell them to change. There is nothing normal about a man having any sexual urges about his children at all. You need to talk to someone about your concerns ASAP! Anyone that you can trust. Try to look up the signs of a sex offender.

most fathers who raise daughters have a strong feeling of family type of love for their girl(s).
that love has been in the heart of the father for so long that it cannot be broken by the recognition that she is growing into a woman.
I believe that most fathers have absolutely no sexual urges toward their own children. it would be unthinkable.

i do agree wid u.
it happened wid me too when i was growing my dad use to stare at me whenever i use to go near him.
i totally cut off myself from him.
then i thought let's face it, he's my dad & will always be so find a way out ,then i started talking to him about my friends, asking him questions about anything & to make him realize i'm his doughter.
& now i dont have any problem with him he's my dear dad& i love him.
so the only solution is to make him realize that u r his doughter & need his guidence,to talk to him rather than running from him.
talk about anything, ask him questions about daily life,ask him about his job & anything that comes to your mind & u'll see a change in his behave.
but if this doesn't happen i'll advise not to let ur sis in danger.
it sometimes is just a litle atraction (male instinct) that make them do so

It's called incest, and yes, it's not normal for a father to feel sexual desire towards his daughters...call the cops.

Ii's NOT normal AT ALL! You should really talk to someone you trust and until then keep an eye on your sister and try not to leave her alone with your dad!!

Not normally. You should really go and talk to a trusted adult IMMEDIATLY.
