Non-Christians have choosen to reject salvation in order to satisfy their lusts in this life. They therefore hate anyone who will not be joining them in the lake of fire also known as hell. They have chosen hell over heaven and hate anyone who didn't. I don't hate them back, they are truly pathetic.

I don't bash Christians or any other religious practitioners. I enjoy listening to how others honor their deity/ies.
I think that some of the animosity comes when some Christians ask questions and assume that just because people do not practice Christianity, then they have no religion at all or they are sorely lacking something in their lives. That is insulting to people.
I am a devoutly religious person who has never practiced Christianity. I have a wonderful relationship with my deities and am very happy with my religion. Yet some Christians will speak down to me and automatically assume that I am "misinformed". This stops any meaningful conversation.
How would you feel if someone treated you like that? How would you feel if I were to assume that you did not know a real relationship with divinity just because you do not believe in MY religion? How would you feel towards me if I were to say "You don't believe in my religion? Awwwww---you poor thing. I'll pray for you." Do you see how insulting it can be? Is it so unusual that some people will try to strike back? Can you imagine how other people feel when they are treated this way?

well, I don't think that there are alot of people bashing Christians for what they belive. I think that people are tired of Christians being judgemental of everyone else who belives differently than they do. isn't that something a true christian wouldnt' do. remember "thou shal not judge"? I have found that more people who are Chrsitian bash more people than non Christians bash people. for instance your question above. Just because a person does not claim to be a Christian does not make them evil, or going to what Christians think is hell. You can still belive in something other than Christianity and be a good person. What makes Christians think they are soooo superior? The fact that they belive, I don't even think Chrsit himself would act that way towards non Christians, in fact check the bible for that. And you chrsitians are the ones who should get a life and figure out that many people want spritual guidance with all of these questions, and not someone bashing them, where is your life now? living just to bash on others that are different than you. that is what it looks like if I were Chrsitian or not. I have seen both sides.

Why do Christians bash others?
Why do Democrats bash Republicans?
Why do ect. ect.
The truth is there are a lot of differences in the world. Some people see these differences as being against them.
The good news though it's only a small portion of the differnces that feel this way.
For example there are probably over a thousand Christians and over a thousand Athiests here, but only about 50 of each are hateful.

All sorts of people get bashed all the time, not just Christians. Ignore them and look for the good and useful questions.

Christians attempt to bash too. Although they generally lack the capacity to construct logical arguments, and never succeed in winning a debate, they still insist upon their beliefs. Non-believers aren't the only ones doing the bashing...

They see the lie that religion has created about God. And this pulls at their hearts. For there spirit knows that they are free, that they are love, that they are inseperable from God. But society has taught them something else.
Taught them sin, law, fear, manipulation, contradiction, seperation, intolerance.
But there are some believers, who believe that Jesus did more than what the church will admit He did. They are the true believers. They know that they are free to believe whatever they wish, that they are free to live however they wish. And they are still God. Nothing will change that.
It is not our decision to make. God and Jesus decided. And they decided that it was proven that law made everyone guilty, now everyone would be righteous under grace. The law that was abolished also included the law of belief. Thank God!

Listen, all this thing about bashing and stuff.... Is it important? You CAN'T change anyone unless they're willing to listen sincerely and with their heart. Even then, change must come from DEEP within THEMSELVES. As for You, my dear, you're a Christian and know that. Faith doesn't ask for evidence or winning debates. It's what you feel, and know what's right. :)

Perhaps it's that the unbelievers are continually assaulted by the Christians and other religious groups? Just a thought, and it doesn't necessarily mean that I myself believe that to be the case. It does appear to be the common ground of most of the unbelievers that I know though, the constant barrage "You'll go to Hell" and other things have driven them to be ever more skeptical and hostile and one can hardly blame them. Food for thought.

There are different groups getting bashed all the time in the forum. It just happens that you are sensitive because you have strong christian beliefs.

I believe in God but it is wrong for some Christians to try and take the rights away from others and it is wrong for those who do not believe to try and take the rights of the Christians away. For example Christians try to take away the rights of children have fun one day a year to dress up any way they want for fun and trick or treat and no Christians are trying to take God out of everything such as our schools and out of all government buildings. And that is just one example of each.
