"God works in mysterious ways" is the standard answer any Christian will say when they do not have an answer to the question. There is no god...never was...is not now, or ever will be.

I'm not sure that he does. We are taught that we are created in his image and likeness so logically his ways shouldn't be mysterious to our nature. He will only act in accordance with his rules but human insight and "intelligence" are usually unable to fathom the limitless number of positive possibilities that He might consider. Your 1st choice for a blessing or solution might be too self indulgent. We must keep in mind that He is a benevolent being , that he has a sense of humor and that he wants us to do well and prosper.

Our minds are finite, and can only see things with reference to what has already happened where we were.. Our will desires things that we cannot have.

God's mind is infinite, eternal, ubiquitous and omniscient. His will, and his ability are one and the same.

God's mindset is alien to our way of thinking. Nobody knows how someone who knows everything, and does only good thinks. Since we cannot fathom the thought process of god, god appears to work in mysterious ways, or in no ways, depending on your beliefs.

God is bigger than we can know. There is nothing wrong with questioning and trying to understand, but our minds are limited. God's ways aren't mysterious to God, only to us, because we can't see the what will happen. "I don't know what the future holds, but I know who holds the future."
