Let me ask you this...Whose "sins" did Jesus carry to the cross and die for? Why does the Bible say..."His blood (Jesus) washed away the sins of the WORLD? Do you see a pattern? There is no mention of any particular person or group of persons. It was "SIN", yours, mine and everyone else's that eventually caused Jesus' death on the cross. Open the Bible and read Matthew, Mark, Luke and John. Read a New International translation. It's very easy to read and understand. I hope you will approach reading the Bible without prejudice. Some of you don't even know enough about the Catholic Church or what they believe to comment. Just having been Catholic doesn't even equate to knowledge. I've seen Catholics who don't even have a clue.
The Pope only gets about 4 hours sleep a day. Yes the Church gets a lot of money from perishioners but they use it for education and helping people. The purpose of the Church is to serve the people. You would be surprised at the little money they actually use for luxury.

I'm an orthodox christian, so don't know that much about Pope, but I can tell You this... Our Patriarch was born in 1919. It's a man that still does all the servings in a Church, that manages to have entire community under his supervision and makes sure it functions well, that still USES CITY BUSES and WALKS a lot around the capital city!!! His calmness and sincerity are divine. I would never dare calling him anything but living SAINT, a man of heart. :)
