It's funny, all the answers so far have already been tried, and they are the main reasons we still don't have world peace. If one religion says turn your lives over to the lord, another religion says that religion is false...and then the two go to war. Sometimes for decades.

One person says, "let's kill 'em all!" A government steps in and says, "you can't do that!" And then they go to war.

A philosopher or holy man comes along and says "find inner peace" (Jesus, Gandhi, Martin Luther King), and then someone--usually the government--comes along and assassinates him.

Everything has been tried, and nothing works. You can all try to be positive, that's good, but read up on your history.

Nothing works. There will never be world peace as long as there is money, religion, and politics. That may sound conflicting, but if you know your history, you know what I'm saying.

War is a necessary consequent of the current state system. As long as we have independent nation-states, we will have war. The only way to achieve world peace is under a single world government. Is world peace worth giving up independence and sovereignty?

There is only one thing that can bring about world peace: The death of all mankind.

The Baha'i Faith, that hasn't been tried yet, at least not by the masses. It will, however, become the world's religion, and there will be one world government. World peace will happen.

I dont know if we could ever end wars totally but maybe if someone invented an EMP(electromagnetic pulse) to knock out anything more advanced than a slingshot then maybe wars would at least be less destructive. You're generally less willing to kill someone when you have to get up close and do it hand to hand. It's easy for a leader to tell his soldiers to go get killed when he's sitting comfortably behind a desk somewhere but very few rush into war when they have to actually lead their troops.

Don't think there will ever be world peace. It's sad but it will never happen.
