How can i splice video's (.mov.mpg.) files together?

I have several video files that I'd like to make into a single file. anyone know of a program that is easy to use that will do this for me? thanks.

There are 'join' programs to join vid files but from my experience they not only have to be the same extention (.mpg etc.) but there is something else about the files that is a problem.... not all .mpg (etc.) can be joined. There must be something about 'bit rate' for lack of the proper term or something that makes it not work. soooooo....
It depends on what files you want to join.
What I do: I make a slideshow using Roxio EZ Media Creator which 'joins' any files in the order you want and burn them to DVD to play in any DVD player including your PC dirve.
