I am not christian, and I've always had trouble understanding why there are so many different churches. Honestly, I always felt it was a little hypocrytical. But lately, I've been trying to learn more about different churches, and I've found that most of them have a point that is less shallow than over-analyzing.
I'm still interested in learning more. So to christians, even non denominational, tell me about your church and how it is different from others?

There are so many different churches because there are so many denomonations. You should visit different churches until you feel at home in one. If your not sure about what a certian church practices then check your Bible to make sure they are lined up in the word.

Well, actually just because some Christians are from different denominations doesn't mean that they should be against eachother. Yes, they do disagree on some elements of Christianity but not the core foundations. These are:

1. Jesus is both God and man
2. Jesus rose from the dead physically
3. Salvation is by grace through faith
4. The gospel is the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus
5. There is only one God
6. God exists as a Trinity of persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
7. Jesus was born of the Virgin Mary (nature of incarnation)

And even the bible allows us to disagree on minor points

Rom. 14:1-5

Catholic is like the first church to be set after the death of jesus and we have the oldest and most valuable and correct morals, which aren't affected my modren things. We don't look down on other churches but try to help them in their own church (Pope John Paul 2 went into a synagogues) to show he wasn't playing. And also, our pride and honor comes with the body and bloof of Christ which we receive every mass and at that time, u really feel that u have unearthly holiness inside the church, that is the whole part of Catholics right there, that split 5 minutes have carried up for over 2000 years.

I am a christian, I was saved at the age of eight years old! I have grown up Baptist. All churches are different. Meaning they worship God different, some sign from hymn books and some sing praise and worship. I understand how you feel. It's not about church to be honest. What matters most is that you know how much God loves you. You matter to him. If you are having all these feeling it could be God talking to you. He created you and loves you just as you are. What are you looking for on a church? Big, Small, Religion prefrence, etc...
I attend a small church. We sing out of a hymnal, but we sing contemporary praise and worship song too. Even though we are baptist we are free to life our hands and praise God. Most people view Baptist churches as a church that the preacher always talkes about hell, fire and brimstone. In our church we love all people for who they are. Not everyone wears dresses on sundays. We want people to come as they are.Everyone can be hypocrital at times, but that is the human inside us. You are one of God's wonderful creations. trust God and he will find you a church perfect for your every need.
God Bless You. I will keep you in my prayers.

Come as you are. No nice attire needed, shorts and t-shirts are welcomed. No shoes necessary, come bare foot if you want. No money needed to be given, there is no collection of contributions taken in the church service, but an offering box is left outside for those who wish to give. No unnecessary man made rules. No judging allowed or gossiping. No sermons pre-prepared, all sermons given are spontaneous and scriptures are opened at the start of Church services.

We follow the two greatest commandments given by Christ and come under the Grace that God freely gives to those that believes.
The bible is our instructional booklet and we value the gospels and doctrine of Jesus Christ.

I belong to the Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster. His wondrous noodly appendages were responsible for the creation of the earth. He started by creating mountains and trees, and finally a midget. From those humble beginnings we have this wonderful world of ours today.

I am a type of Baptist that most people are unfamiliar with. We are not nearly as conservative as the Southern Baptist Convention, and as a result we split off of that body in the 1990's.

My type of Baptist has identified "four fragile freedoms" that we believe are fundamental to our faith. These freedoms, which have been under attack for nearly 20 years, have been well defined by Walter Shurden at Mercer University. Shurden says the first freedom is Bible Freedom, the historic Baptist affirmation that the Bible, under the Lordship of Christ, must be central in the life of the individual and church and that Christians, with the best as most scholarly tools of inquiry, are both free and obligated to study and obey the scripture. The second freedom is soul freedom: the inalienable right and responsibility of every person to deal with God without the imposition of creed, the interference of clergy, or the intervention of civil government. The third freedom is church freedom: the Baptist affirmation that local churches are free, under the Lordship of Christ to determine their membership and leadership, to order their worship and work, to ordain whom they perceive as gifted for ministry, male or female, and to participate in the larger Body of Christ, of whose unity and mission Baptists are proudly a part. The final freedom is Religious freedom: the Baptist affirmation of freedom OF religion, freedom FOR religion, and freedom FROM religion, insisting that Caesar is not Christ and Christ is not Caesar.
