Believe me, you cant change a person. If he is that way, all you can do is confront him about it (but be nice). If he sees it, maybe he will want to change that part of him. If he doesn't, then it's better to walk away, there is always someone else who will do better by you. I have found this out from personal experience (16 years of experience). Don't waist your time if he wont change, cause all you would be doing is prolonging the inevitable, and waisting all that precious time with someone who is making you unhappy.

Ask him to stop playing around with your feelings. If he doesn't serious up. Remind him that you are looking for a mature individual that enjoys having a relationship with a wonderful woman. If he doesn't desire that then he may find another less mature girl with which me may act the child all he likes. If this still doesn't work, dump him. If he straightens up, or is willing to listen, just tell him it's ok to make jokes but there are thing that you find hurtful and ask him to not do them.

Your talking about changing someone else. Which you can not do. If he is playing with your head and you know it, then he is not very good at it. You might as well drop him like a log. He will become an embarrisment to you later. So stop waisting your time.

First of all, how old is the gentle man? Serious demand need serious partner. If you are serious, committed, and he cannot see, than the relationship lack mutual feelings.
The man is NOT ready for serious relationship, so he cannot take you seriously.
So, he has no other choice, than playing.

Yell at him. Do new things that make him hold you. Dress sexy in front of him, get in bed with him often, and he will do whatever you want.
