Christians believe in
galatians 5
22 the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.
becoming a Christian does not mean you won't have problems like others. But at least with a positive attitude, christians tend to be happier people.

I myself am agnostic, also known as the atheist without balls. True happiness through religion is hard to come by for the vast majority of people in the world. For most, religion is followed through traditions and through that tradition it could bring on "happiness" or any other sort of emotion. Like most other things it depends on the person through which this is about. As a whole I'd say that they are equal as long as they both choose to be who they are, and in that be happy.

lets say theres a 50 50 chance of there being a god. if you dont believe and your wrong, you go to hell. if you do believe and your wrong, its not like you wont live life to the fullest anyways. studies have show people with religion live longer happier lives overall. true fro most situations. if you dont believe and your right, nothing happens. but if you do believe and your right, you most likely will have a better life plus go to heaven

I think we need to look at how each faces adversity. The christian is taught that it is only temporary and that it will bring him closer to God if he remembers to look to God.
The atheist believe that that is just the way it is and it may be that way for as long as he exist.
Which would help you get through tough times?

Depends on the person. All Christians aren't happy and all atheists aren't unhappy. I'm atheist and I'm perfectly happy.

your question seems vague.. for when we talk about being happy, we refer to one's feelings because of something positive that happened.
I say Christians have JOY. For when one has joy in his or her heart, the feeling stays the same whether in good and bad situations.

well, i cant speak for everyone but i am happy because Christ has given me my only reason to live. if someone does not believe in a perfect being who loves us and wants to have a relationship with us, then there is no reason to live. you might think you have reason to live, but i guarantee you, you arent really happy

Christians are more happy because they know where they are going after they die so they have an inner peace. Athiest people have no idea so they are confused and have no assurance so they go through life wondering wat happens after they die.
