I think that some if not all racists are so convinced they have a righteous point of view that they feel everyone will instinctively agree with them and they don't feel they'll have to deal with any consequences or criticism. l even know racists who will look you in the eye and tell you they are not.

A lot of times it is to get a rise out of people.
They know they are racists or bigots . But they are seeing how many people they can get to respond to their question.
I don't respond I just report them.
