except when it's time to be tolerant of anothers Christian faith and then they become narrow minded haters.

Read Ann Coulter's book, "Godless: The Church of Liberalism" and you'll understand why. Tolerance is part of the religion of the left.

People in the U.S. used to want to be known for their character. Now, with 40 years of officially secularist (read: atheist) schools (don't forget that universities are bastions of liberalism), people now want to be known as "tolerant."

And when someone dares to cross the line with non-PC speech, look out! They're offended! With the venom they spew at you afterward, you'd think that you were in a church full of hypocrites!

UPDATE: Spibbles (see post below mine) just proved my point. Thankyouverymuch.

Interesting question--enticingly vague, stereotypical tripe kind of question most "conservatives" seem to ask when trying to prove some inane point about how much more God-fearin', mentally stable, and all around better they are than everyone else. Either that. or you're just trying to stir up people like me (believe me, there's MILLIONS) who don't fit into these two "tidy" categories.
Nevertheless, I'm going to answer this.
First of all, I also have a problem with the word "tolerance". Personally, I don't think it should be used by anybody as an indication of how We the People are supposed to get along. After all, the number one dictionary meaning of "tolerance" is "capacity to endure pain or hardship". Now I don't know about you, but that doesn't sound so inviting to me. I'd much rather have the option of liking someone's company or not interacting with them.
As far as your bringing your religion into this, I would love to know the context in which it was brought up. Not having that vital information because you failed to provide it, I can only imagine that you might be the type to throw your "Christian faith" at people like a bludgeon until they snap and give back what they're getting from you. Maybe you're the narrow-minded one--I know plenty of "liberals" out there are very devout followers of "Christian faith", just as God-fearin' as you are, who may just hate the way you present your take on Christ, not Christ himself. Think about it, actually think about it, man. Ask yourself just how open-minded you are, if you can accept that the majority of people around the world, and a pretty decent percentage of the population here in the USA doesn't even believe in Jesus as "the one and only savior". See if you're open-minded enough to accept that without thinking these millions upon millions of people are misguided or sacreligious and are all bound for hell. Then come back and ask a more concise question.

Ann Coulter...that ***** (I hope Yahoo doesn't censor that word, but it probably will).

ANYWAY...and how, pray tell, do liberals not tolerate the Christian faith? Are you all offended that we don't let you teach out of dusty old mythology books in science classes, or that we won't let you post your religious dogma in government places? What's the problem, dear? Or are you upset that we won't let you force prayer to the Christian god on kids in school? Mmmm? Or what--is it the Pledge? Well, news flash, dude--some of us don't necessarily believe that we're a nation under God, and we have a constitutional right not to believe that, so take your own narrow-minded intolerance and shove it.

You illustrate your own point. Within the US, the largest religious group is Christianity. Many Christians fall socially within the more conservative party.

Your question suggests skepticism on the idea of tolerance. Not to oversimplify or generalize too much, but liberals generally subscribe to a theory of "live and let live," while conservatives and often Christians are more evangelical.

yes let's all generalize some more. Why do conservatives harp about morals when they'll let humans die than to research an aborted fetus, when they'll have human beings denied their rights to marry in a church because they'll be "a bad influence". Stop drawing lines, liberal, conservative, democrat, republican, all self intergrated segeration.

You make a valid point, but consider that both parties are pretty narrow minded at times.
